PurrView Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Frontier Felines inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a California nonprofit corporation, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the PurrView service (the “Service”), including the web app at /purrview/.
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Overview
We collect the minimal data needed to operate the Service—such as colony information, visit logs, and account details. We do not sell your data.
Information we collect
To provide colony management, team collaboration, and account security, we may collect:
- Account details — such as email address, name (if provided), authentication credentials, and organization membership
- Colony information — organization and colony names, structure, and related settings
- Cat and care records — registry fields, health notes, photos you upload, and status (for example active or inactive)
- Visit logs — daily roll-call and visit notes entered by you or your teammates
- Team and access data — invites, roles, and similar membership information needed to share an account safely
- Technical data — limited operational information needed to run and secure the Service (for example session and connection state)
We aim to collect only what is reasonably necessary for the Service to work as intended.
Where your data lives
Offline data stays local. When you use PurrView offline or before sync completes, certain information is stored on your device so you can keep working without a connection.
Synced data uses a secure backend. When you are online and sync, Service data is transmitted to and stored on our secure backend so your team can share context across devices and sessions.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate users and enforce access controls (including seats, roles, and invites)
- Sync colony, cat, and visit data across authorized team members
- Communicate about the Service (for example beta access, security, or support)
- Protect against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations
Sharing
We do not sell your data.
Sharing is limited. We may share information only:
- With service providers who help us operate the Service (for example hosting, authentication, or infrastructure), under obligations to protect the data
- With your teammates when you invite them into an organization—members of that organization can see shared colony and care data according to their role
- As required by law — for example in response to a valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- With your direction — if you ask us to share or export information
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Subject to applicable exceptions, these may include the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Request access to or deletion of personal information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.
Retention & security
We retain Service data for as long as your account or organization needs the Service, and as reasonably necessary for legitimate business, security, and legal purposes. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information; no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Service is intended for adult caretakers and organizational users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
